Buckfastleigh is lovely – and from there you can head onto the moor and eat the best cream tea in the world at Dartmeet!
I found, surprisingly, that all of the above and many more animals that we link to Africa and equatorial countries used to live here in Devon. Buckfastleigh is a small village just next to the A38 in Devon en route to Cornwall. Over the years Pengelly Caves have thrown up bones belonging to a range of wild animals that once roamed these parts. Now there are bats and a tomb relating to the Hounds of the Baskerville story. Lovely countryside and a hidden gem with very knowledgeable guides.
