Easyjet

For straightforward flights, I use http://www.skyscanner.net. You can even put in the dates you want to fly and mark the destination as Anywhere which is where we found the TAP and Air Malta flights.

If it is more complex, like flying to Miami and returning from San Diego, then I use http://www.expedia.co.uk.

I don’t always book through those sites though as I like to route the booking via Quidco to get some cashback. Every little helps!

Thanks, good to have all these bits of info. As you say, every little helps.

Which price comparison site do you use?

We have been using Easyjet for our European travel for years but when we came to book 2 holidays this year to Madeira and Malta, they wanted £500 each on the first day of booking (which is when they are cheapest) when we added on all the extras. Admittedly, they were both Bank Holiday weeks.
So we went on a price comparison site and found TAP Portugal and Air Malta at around £200 each.
No brainer really and both airlines were excellent.

When you’re taking hold luggage its certainly worth checking out BA & the like, often the total price isn’t much different. MoneySavingExpert.com has some useful tips on "Budget flight fee-fighting":

I still think that easyJet are the best of the low cost carriers. One of the reasons many people have cabin baggage is because EasyJet do not have a weight restriction unlike most other airlines. We are booked with them for Egypt in November.

We used to think Easyjet was reasonable, but having just booked with them, our opinion is now not as good.
We found the charge for 1 suitcase each in the hold excessive.
Because of this hefty charge more passengers travel with carry-on cases. But the overhead luggage lockers are no bigger, so now there is not enough room for everyone’s hand luggage.
Also we were charged a £10 ‘administration fee’ – we don’t remember this sort of charge being made last time we booked with Easyjet.
