Where will you go with 3 days free car hire?

This prize draw is now closed.

Take to the open road in this competition with Avis, the global vehicle hire company! You could be driving along one of the most scenic routes in the world: think of the North Coast 500 in Scotland, the Garden Route in South Africa, the splendidly named Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse in Austria or Snaefell Mountain Road on the Isle of Man. Perhaps you’d prefer a leisurely, coastal meander from Alnmouth to Bamburgh beside the beaches of Northumberland or seaside sweetness travelling from Hunstanton to Cromer in Norfolk. The choice is yours!

Our lucky winner will have up to 3 days free car hire, anywhere in the world, where Avis operate, in a Group C car (these are hatchbacks such as Renault Captur, Seat Leon or similar). Also included are:

Unlimited Mileage, Collision Damage Waiver Insurance, Theft Protection Insurance, Airport/City Surcharges and Taxes, Any Ancillaries.

Avis Group C - Renault Captur or similar

Terms & Conditions
Driver must be over 21 years of age with a full driving license. The prize must be taken by 31st February 2019. The prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable. The prize voucher has no monetary value. Fuel costs are not included. Please note insurance excesses may still apply. Standard Avis rental terms and conditions apply. Rental location pick-up and drop-off must be the same. Avis require a minimum of 7 days’ notice when placing your reservation.  See for full rental terms and conditions.

Tell us in the comments section below where you would like to drive to and why!  It could be a James Bond moment over the Alps, or a gentle jaunt along the south coast – we’d like to know.

We’ll announce the winner early in April 2018.

I'd like to go where the road takes me - head over to the continent, pick up the hire car then head north and explore areas I've never been to. Maybe I could tour northern Germany then hop into Denmark and take the roads and bridges over to Sweden. My partner loves driving, and I like visiting new places, so this would suit us very well . . . and it would be great to see how far we could travel in three days :)

Oh yes. Definitely a three day car hire to go see my best friend Gwen in Devon. She’s had cancer , chemo and radiotherapy and so far so good, so she needs a trip out and a cheer up.

If I won the competition for 3 days free car hire I would take my wife up to Scotland to see her sister. She lives near Glasgow and it would be great to be able to drive up from Dorset.

I would like to hop on a train to Scotland and pick up my hire care at Glasgow to explore Loch Lomond and on to Inverary, then down to Kintyre and over on the ferry to Isle of Arran to see Brodick Castle and another ferry to Rothesay to see the wonderful Isle of Bute nature trails plus the Castle there and if only 3 days I think I would have to leave the Isle of Mull for another time! The warm and mild West coast of Scotland and islands have wonderful lush gardens to visit too and a hire car is just the way to explore!

I would love to explore Orkney and Shetland. This is something I have wanted to do for some time, having read about the area over several years and enjoyed seeing the islands on TV. This would be a dream come true.

We are going to Rhodes in September, a car would enable us to see most of the island in 3 days.

I would love to do a Key West Road Trip in Florida. Imagine driving along with the sea and the sun beside you! I have visited Florida a couple of times but always with children and the holiday has been Disney themed. I would like to go there (without Mickey Mouse) and just see the wonderful sunsets!

I would love to go to Burgundy and drive around the country lanes and byways, popping in along the way to farms and small villages off the beaten track - getting to know the people and customs, and of course tasting the fabulous cuisine.

The scenery of Southeastern Utah is rugged and rocky - well worth a drive to experience earth's beauty at its most elemental.

I would like to travel slowly cross-country to Bath, a beautiful and vibrant city which I'd love to visit again, stopping off and exploring along the way and finishing with an evening dip in the rooftop pool of the Thermae Bath Spa, relaxing and looking at the amazing views

Will be in Ghent in May. Would be able to visit friends in Leuven and Brussels.

But having the option to do it while on proper holiday later in year would be such a Silver-Bonus!!!

I would love to take the train to Scotland, then be able to drive round, taking in the sights. It is too far to drive there from Berkshire, but it would be great to have a car for the holiday to make the most of the stay.

I was born in Shoreham in Sussex and spent all my holidays with my granny and aunt who lived in Worthing.I also have in-laws in East Sussex. It is ages since I visited and would love to tour Sussex and revisit my childhood, both the beaches and the downs. I drive an old van so it would be wonderful to have the luxury of a smart car to ride in instead.
