Silver Travel Prize DrawThis prize draw is now closed.

We have SEVEN fabulous holidays prizes to be won, all of which can be taken towards the end of 2020 or in 2021. To enter into the free prize draw to win one of these holidays, we’re asking you to vote in the Silver Travel Awards, where you acknowledge the travel companies and destinations that have really gone the extra mile or two to ensure you have a great time whilst away from home. Once you’ve voted, you can make additional entries by doing any (or all) of the actions below in the blue box.

Why it’s more important than ever to vote this year

We are all very conscious of the Coronavirus impact, and the restrictions placed on travelling at present. However our Silver Travel Awards voting will continue – it’s your chance, and especially in these difficult times, to show your support for your favourite travel companies. They will truly appreciate it.

Now in their sixth year, the Silver Travel Awards celebrate the very best in travel for the over 50s, as voted for the general public: vote for river and ocean cruises, adventure and activity holidays, city breaks, escorted tours, self-caterings stays, accessible holidays, rail journeys and singles trips.

You could win a:

And to have more chances to win our prizes, do one or more of the following:

    Horrible Covid has come
    The travel budget has slumped
    However we do the sum
The holiday to get us pumped
Looks mightily remote, with chances thin
Perhaps there is only one way
Find a competition we can win
With travel that doesn’t say pay!

I find the articles about days out useful as planning for travel is stressful and it helps to make it easier.

I totally agree with Kyalami's comment below and with Nanoo's reflection on those with more limited budgets (I am one of those). I would be fibbing if I said I wasn't a little bit envious of those retirees who can enjoy more far-flung destinations and the thrill of great rail journeys or skiing somewhere other than Bulgaria (thanks to the beautiful Balkans for making it affordable) but there is incredible variety and beauty here in Britain and our own tourist and travel industries need our support now more than ever.

Have had early May trip cancelled which is disappointing but in the scheme of things makes perfect sense. Having been looking forward to tripping a bit more in 2020, the medium to long term picture being unclear is not helpful as regards planning anything new so will just have to wait for decisions being made by the respective authorities.

Always good to hear other peoples thoughts and perspectives from this forum along with invaluable advice and experiences.

The older you get you realise everything you do is important and should be done with enthusiasm if you don't have much money you will still find things that you can enjoyon even your budget and entering competitions is a way of perhaps getting one take care and stay safe

The Health of the World and its peoples are the most important issue at present.....The hopes and dreams of those peoples.whoever and where ever they may be are the link that connects us all....There is a future , but a very different future, to the one we had been expecting to see, be part of , to experience....Change MUST & WILL happen....We must be patient and accept we cannot put the world right any tine soon....

Lovely prizes but I think when the time is right we should take our next holiday in the UK supporting our beautiful tourist destinations. Eating out locally & doing all we can by spending our money in Britain!

I’m finding the information on tour operators and holiday destinations very valuable. Add in the traveler experiences, I feel more confident before I boil holidays. Xx

It's always helpful to read other travellers comments on places you want to visit and learn the pros and cons of a different travel spot
