Mount Lycabettus, AthensThis month our partner, Evaneos, is offering a super trip, visiting Athens and two of the Cyclades islands, Paros and Naxos, with flights included. For two people, this tour will last a week and be created by Albert, Evaneos’ hand-picked local expert in Greece, ensuring the prize winner and their companion get real insights into the area.

Boasting UNESCO-listed historical sites, whitewashed houses, world-renowned gastronomy, and exquisite beaches, Greece is a favourite destination for all travellers looking for culture, adventure, and relaxation.

The Caryatid Porch of the Erechtheion, Acropolis, AthensAthens: The cradle of Western civilization

After landing in Athens, depending on your arrival time, you can begin to discover the highlights of some of Greece’s most magnificent ruins with your local guide, and witness the heritage that still courses through its streets. Learn about the fascinating history of the ‘Acropolis’ and ‘Pantheon’, and indulge in some shopping at the Monastiraki market while you sip on some tsipouro (pomace brandy or marc).

Paros: Island paradise in Paros

Naoussa, Paros

A short ferry ride from Athens will take you to the island of Paros, where you’ll have the chance to put your feet up at any one of these beautiful spots: Golden Beach, Kolymbithres or Santa Maria. After re-energising yourself, discover the charming traditional villages of Parka, Lefkes, and Naoussa with your guide, and ditch the afternoon crowds by taking a boat to the small island of Antiparos for a fix of crystal-clear water and Cycladic architecture.

Naxos: An underrated treasure

Apollo Temple, NaxosThe last stop of your trip before returning to Athens is the island of Naxos, one of Greece’s most wonderful hidden gems. This region offers sites and activities for everyone: food enthusiasts can indulge in some Mediterranean cuisine at Chora, the capital of Naxos, while explorers can go on an excursion to the traditional villages of Apiranthos and Halki with a local guide to gain an insight into Greek traditions. As for our adventure enthusiasts, Naxos has plenty of hiking trails to explore, as well as the opportunity to kitesurf in Mikri Vigla.

What a great article - I've never been to any of the places mentioned but this has really whetted my appetite! Magnificent ruins, blue skies, the balmy Aegean and a culture alive with passionate music, wonderful Mediterranean cuisine (I tried Kleftico in a Greek restaurant once - it was so delicious I would love to eat it in the country it comes from) and hiking trails galore. What's not to like?

Many years since I visited the Greek island on a sailing boat. We took a party of Mensa members, who were university students from Cambridge, to teach them how to sail. Two boats: Evryalos and Illiatorus. Every time we approached an island where we were going to have a meal, all the students rushed to one side of the boat, threatening to capsize us. Phew! I'd like to visit an island without this pressure.

I visited Paris and Naxos in 1981 while spending the summer Greek island hopping. Would love to go back with my husband as he has never been to Greece and the zGreek islands.

This sounds like a wonderful holiday - a great mix of culture, city life and island tranquillity. In fact, I think Greece will be next on my holiday list.

Went to Greece as a young 19 year old and certainly never took in the sights! More mature now! what a fantastic opportunity, (if you are lucky enough to win!)

This would make up for our last, disastrous trip to Athens, when we were robbed, and the holiday totally disrupted by strikes

I spent several long summers island-hopping in Greece in my wild and mis-spent youth. I love Greece - the people, the food ,the climate. It would be great to go back and catch up on some long-age faces and places.

I have wanted to go since my husband went to sports competition in Athens and has been raving about it ever since. Historical sites are always so much more interesting than just reading about them.

Gosh this looks amazing! Never did make it to Athens but would love to go. My parents went many moons ago before the restrictions and were able to walk all around the Parthenon and Acropolis and they thought it was so special. To experience some of what they did would be amazing.

I loveGreece. The sea is crystal clear it is warm and friendly. I never think it has enough publicity selling how wonderful it is. Why spend hours in the air travelling further afield when you have such beauty and ancient treasures so much closer to home.

Neither my husband nor I have visited Greece and this would be a wonderful opportunity for us. We are not 'beach people' and like a little bit of culture, combined with lots of fascinating sights and ancient history. To be able to explore the splendour of Athens together with two beautiful islands would be wonderful.

I've been to Athens, but it was a long time ago (when you could actually walk around the Parthenon & touch the Pillars) so time to go again. Never been to Paros or Naxos, so this would be a fabulous prize to win.
