Market Cross Guest HouseApplications for a guest blogger now closed.

Could you write for us? We are looking for a reviewer, with their partner or companion, to visit North Northumberland in September or October 2019 and stay for two nights at the Market Cross Guest House, a beautiful B&B, with more than a touch of luxury.

The owners, Amanda and Steve say, “We are based in a 230 year old Georgian house, once part of a coaching inn and now a 5-star gold B&B with 4 guest rooms with luxury accommodation in the small village of Belford in North Northumberland. Amanda is a trained and experienced chef and makes as much of the food given to our guests herself including bread, preserves, granola and even the baked beans. Quality is what is important to us and we are careful about everything we choose for our guests from the bedding and towels to the Nespresso coffee machine in each room.”

Market Cross is very central to all the major attractions of the area including Bamburgh Castle, Lindisfarne (Holy Island), Alnwick Castle and the Farne Islands. The area is popular for walking with many major routes as well as cycling and bird watching. There is something for everyone in North Northumberland.

I would love this opportunity. Since I retired I have been trying my hand at blogging. https://www.theplatinumline.blog/ I found it enabled to link up with other grandparent bloggers from around the world. I would love to be able to introduce them to the lovely countryside of Northumberland and the borderlands. Lindisfarne has always seemed a magical place with its celtic heritage and I would like to walk more of Hadrian's wall.

I love Anne Cleeves Vera Novels and would enjoy visiting the places where Vera is filmed and see the birdlife she describes so vividly. As a Southener I love the rugged landscape and the formidable castles and I know it would also be good to come back to home cooked local produce and relax in a lovely B & B. Add in a Nespresso machine and I would be in heaven.

Although being quite new to writing blogs - I am now doing so for our Frontier Canada site - I love writing and I love exploring and would love to visit this part of the world. Fabulous for walking and Bamburgh Castle and Lindisfarne are on my wishlist. The other thing I would love to is visit the Dark Sky park; it is something that Canada has too, and the contrast between somewhere as lovely as North Northumberland and Jasper in the Canadian Rockies would be great. I would also have to admit to being a keen charity shop shopper and I pretty certain the market towns in the area would have a veritable wealth of treasures in that department... My other weakness is food and drink and I think a visit to the Northumberland Cheese Factory would be on my menu.
I would love to be chosen to do this and look forward to hearing from you.
