Hotel Firenze is well located on the side of a tree-filled park that also doubles as the main bus terminus – and the buses don’t detract from the location as, just across that park, you’re onto the main seaside prom’ that stretches for many kilometres to the north (if you like a good walk) or you can walk the canal or the molo on your left as you join that prom. Seeing the fishing boats sell their catch on the canal side in the forenoon is a particular pleasure – measuring the weight of a purchase on hand-held brass scales (and a canal-side lunch/snack of ‘fritto misto’ from the fish’n’chip barca is not to be missed!)

The hotel itself is a low-cost, friendly family-run hotel. The rooms seems to have had a recent makeover – new furnishings (beds, desk, wardrobe etc) and flooring. The bathroom had a shower (no bath) which did show its age but otherwise all clean and no shortage of hot water.

Outlook from the front rooms is across the park to the sea (depending on which floor you’re on) – at the back you’ll either get the yards of other houses around, or a look at the mountains. It’s an older building so room sizes, outlook etc can vary a lot!
Breakfast is a fairly standard cold continental of bread rolls/buns with butter, preserves and honey; and yogurt, fruit juice, cereal, T/coffee.

Pricing seems very good for the area (not sure exactly which price my client paid for me – but he considers it very reasonable!).

Novel idea is your breakfast table allocation – you’ll find your room number on a specific table, so no need to ‘bag’ one by leaving a magazine or spec’s!

The do lunches and evening meals (noted that they offer ‘half board’ and ‘full board’ pricing – but I only had breakfast here so can’t comment on other meals. And there are plenty of restaurants of all persuasions in easy reach.

Noted that there was only a small TV in my room and showing only Italian channels – so if you like lots of TV then this wouldn’t do. Otherwise – worth a try for the friendliness, location and price.
